Ferry port Terschelling
'Renovation and Maintenance of Terschelling Ferry Port'
On the Dutch Wadden island of Terschelling, renovation and maintenance work is currently being carried out in the ferry port. The project includes the replacement of sheet piling at various quays, the renewal of both the pedestrian and car bridges for the ferry, and the reorganization of the surrounding area. This project will be executed in phases and is expected to continue until mid-2025.
During this period, the ferry schedule will remain unchanged, but a temporary modular docking facility will be used. To ensure the safe and efficient docking of the ferry, a temporary setup has been installed, including a car bridge, pedestrian bridge, and a temporary overnight berth at the dock in the harbor basin.
This temporary structure is supported by steel pipe piles and consists of modular bridge sections measuring 6, 9, and 12 meters in length, which can be connected to achieve the desired length and width. The curved sections have been specially designed for this project.
